The summer WQ testing results for bacteria levels in Sligo Creek are in. Sligo fared in the “moderate” range overall, with significant variation among the sites tested. See the FOSC facebook group for bimonthly results of the Anacostia Riverkeeper summer water quality monitoring program.

The Summer Water Quality Testing program is a program of Anacostia Riverkeeper, with funding from the Chesapeake Bay Trust. It includes testing of the Anacostia and Potomac rivers and Rock Creek in the District, and testing of Sligo Creek/Long Branch and NW Branch in MoCo.

The FOSC Water Quality committee also conducts water quality testing, including E. coli bacteria testing, throughout the year. Visit the Water Quality pages for data and reports on the physical, chemical and bacterial profiles of Sligo.
