MoCo Parks is evaluating a proposed hard surface trail extension for Long Branch Trail. The extension would start at the end of the existing trail at Long Branch Parkway and extend to Carroll Avenue. The current path is an informal footpath, or “people’s choice trail”.  The goal is to improve trail connectivity, according to the Parks Dept. website for the proposal, while addressing “environmental enhancements, including tree replacement, removal of non-native/invasive (NNI) plants, floodplain, and stream buffer habitat enhancement, and restoration replanting”.

Tune in to Parks’ June 16 event to learn more about the proposal and see preliminary concept plans, and tell Parks staff what you think about the proposal.
