- Jane Barrett started us out with the results of her great research on stenciling/decaling of storm drains and purchasing of banners. She will next look at the decal options and see what is best for Sligo Creek. One is bilingual but generic; the other we might be able to get would be specific to Sligo Creek. We would start this project in May and could help organize sections throughout the warm months. Regarding the banners, it seems that a quoted price for four banners that would be 8-ft. long is the best option. We would keep the message simple and perhaps call the spring cleanup Sweep the Creek as well, so we can increase versatility. Ann will ask the board for money to cover the banners. A few smaller signs that can be stuck in the ground might be purchased to be placed at the actual meeting places. We’d need to scope out the best places for the banners to be hung. One definite location is Dennis Ave. and the Parkway.
- We discussed advocacy for the Maryland bottle bill, and Wendi will send an advocacy form letter for board approval.
- We discussed Jane’s idea for painting some trash cans in the Park so as to attract users. This project could be done in conjunction with a FOSC event.
