FOSC receives the 2025 Wayne Goldstein Award from the MoCo Civic Federation

Friends of Sligo Creek received the MoCo Civic Federation’s 2025 Wayne Goldstein Award at the Federation’s 100th anniversary celebration in Wheaton this June.

The Wayne Goldstein Award recognizes outstanding public service contributions by an individual or group in Montgomery County. The Montgomery County Council, Marc Elrich (County Executive) and the Maryland State District 20 team also formally recognized FOSC for our efforts on behalf of the creeks and parklands.

This recognition goes to all our volunteers, including Stewards, Weed Warriors, Water Quality/Salt Monitors, Outreach teams and Advocates. Thank you all!

It takes a lot of caring people and organizations to protect the ecological health of our watershed. Thank you for your many contributions to the community effort that makes FOSC a nimble and respected voice for the watershed.
