FOSC Board Meeting
At Kit’s, Dec 2, 2014
attending: Jim Anderson, Terry Anderson, Kit Gage, Sarah Jane Marcus, Bruce Sidwell, Michael
Smith, Corinne Lackner Stephens

Decisions:
CBT Grant proposals: After considerable discussion, agreed to send letters of support for 3 projects –
WaterWatchDogs, Sough Four Corners and Montgomery Housing Partnership. For WaterWatchDogs
we will recommend the more focused grant. We will make clear we’re not a responsible partner for any
of the grants but will support in general, and do specified activities to facilitate. Kit will draft and send
letters.

Pesticides Letter: After considerable discussion, agreed to send a letter to County Council along the
lines of the Bruce drafted letter amended by Michael Smith, and not including explicit endorsement of
the MoCo bill language. Kit will confirm content with Michael S and Bruce before sending to council.
Treasurer search: 2 good candidates (and since, one more) whom Vanessa will first interview then
with Kit. Will recommend to the board, perhaps including a recommendation for a vice treasurer – in
training for the job after current treasurer.

Database Update: Andrew has almost completed the 200 good names transfer. Will reactivate the
donation button and process so Kit can send an end of year letter. Michael Smith, Michael Wilpers,
Bruce Sidwell and Kit will go over the ‘bad’ addresses to see if any of them can be recouped and added
to the new database.
